SHOPPING FOR YOUR PLEASURE

Preparing themselves for the release of their new album All Or Nothing, DIY supergroup and minimalist post-punk enthusiasts Shopping have shared a propulsive new gem in 'For Your Pleasure'. Written during an intense 10 day writing stint in London, there's an exciting sense of urgency to 'For Your Pleasure' that can often only be achieved under pressure. Eliminating the opportunity to overthink things, bassist/vocalist Rachel Aggs' expectedly groovy bass line drives the track as a thunderous, tom-heavy drum beat powers the rhythm section forward. Introducing 80s-inspired synth sounds that add a chilly new-wave texture, the accompanying video also nods to this era, taking inspiration from the colourful dance floors of gay clubs. -Holly Mullineaux
